This is a great book. It explains the construction and function of hybrids and other alternative fueled vehicles. It starts by familiarizing you with different types of fuels such as methane and ethanol. Then it gets into the systems that are unique to hybrid vehicles like regenerative braking and idle stop mode. It is a very detailed book and gives information on servicing these systems in a safe and effective manner. It's a good resource for any technician that needs to know how to service cars that are part of this growing, and possibly temporary trend in the automotive industry. With direct fuel injection advancing as much as it is, I don't think that hybrids are gonna get any better gas mileage than regular vehicles in the future.

More than just a sidewalk!

I had first seen this work in a portfolio box some years ago and besides being struck by the visual athletics of this fine photographer, my thought was this work needed to be presented in a book. I am happy to see Sidewalk published! Jeff has been able to make street pictures which are at once funny without being silly, insightful to human behavior and profound to the human condition. Jeff's work is part visual Studs Trekle and part Penn & Teller, because he seems to pull rabbits out of a hat! Life stranger than fiction? You bet after looking at this collection of color (and colorful) street pictures made in New York City. If you can appreciate the street pictures made by Lee Friedlander, Garry Winogrand and Joel Meyerowitz, then add Sidewalk to your bookshelf!

About the Author

Richard Blum has worked in the IT industry for more than 25 years as a network and systems administrator, managing Microsoft, UNIX, Linux, and Novell servers for a network with more than 3,500 users. He has developed and teaches programming and Linux courses via the Internet to colleges and universities worldwide. Rich has a master’s degree in management information systems from Purdue University and is the author of several programming books, including Teach Yourself Python Programming for the Raspberry Pi in 24 Hours (coauthored with Christine Bresnahan, 2013, Sams Publishing), Linux Command Line and Shell Scripting Bible (coauthored with Christine Bresnahan, 2011, Wiley), Professional Linux Programming (coauthored with Jon Masters, 2007, Wiley), and Professional Assembly Language (2005, Wrox). When he’s not busy being a computer nerd, Rich enjoys spending time with his wife, Barbara, and two daughters, Katie Jane and Jessica.

Only book I found really useful for programming Arduino

Excellent book that shows all the main Arduino commands in a well organised manner. It is the only book I have found really useful as I learned the subtleties of the Arduino language, Rather than show "do this and that will happen" (as with many similar books I have read) it explains in depth the usage of the language. If you want to understand or modify existing sketches on your Arduino, this is the book you need. It is a pity about the title as it leads you to think this is a quick programming guide. It is not. It is a comprehensive in depth Arduino language sketch book.

Good book for the beginner, starts off simple, and progresses into more complication as you go along.

The book starts off very basic, like the stuff you could get from any web page on Arduino. It does move on into more interesting subject matter, including libraries, and how to complete certain tasks using Arduino code. There is a little insight into why there is more than one way to do something, but then the explanation why you would not do it that way, and he shows you a better way to do it. I would suggest this book to anyone who has very little to zero experience with Arduino, and wants more.

He offers a detailed analysis of production techniques and decorative typologies, as well as a broad-ranging history of the wares from their development in eighteenth-century England to their widespread popularity in the American market well into the twentieth century. This definitive volume also contains a discussion of mocha's principal manufacturers, a detailed glossary, and a bibliography. When I first read the synopsis on this book, I thought to myself..oooweee this is right up my alley. Sure enough Harmony did NOT disappoint. It had everything I love in a book, drama, love, motorcycles, yummy men, and hot hot S E X. I love a good "claiming" session ;). I do have to say..it was a little more tame then I expected to be. I was thinking hard drugs, boozy parties etc etc, but like I said it did not disappoint.

We have Harmony an outspoken, tough, lovable, musically talented club girl. A "Club Girl" in case some of you are not familiar with MC club logistics is a girl who "entertains" these club members..basically shes a club whore/hoe/slut for all intensive purposes. Harmony is a bit different from the other club girls, she's respected and cherished almost by the members of the Brothers by Blood MC. She's the perfect club girl in their eyes, respectful, non-clingy, not full of drama, and not out to trap a brother for that Old Lady title. Shes used to men coming in and out of her life so shes not really looking for love here.

Then we have Kit, the new President for a near by chapter of the Brothers by Blood MC. He's the newly appointed president, who is well respected and followed by his fellow brothers. He sees Harmony and sees old lady material. More specifically HIS old lady material.

Without giving out too much Harmony and her bestie Chelsea are thrown into some drama by an outsiders. Her local club prez Optimus and Mr. Hottie McNewPrez Kit come in and figure out ways to keep the girls safe. There's betrayal, trust issues, kidnapping, rescue missions, death, sadness, music and sex sex sex...everything a great MC book needs. OH! One warning..there is a CLIFFHANGER in the book (rawrrrr)...but it doesn't involve Harm...so no worries! ;)

With the tense changes, grammatical errors, and typos I just couldn't finish it. It seems like it was written in one go and then not edited, which is unfortunate because I enjoyed the story. The sex scenes are really hot too! if you can get past the poor writing and ignore blaring errors then go ahead and give this book a read, even if it's just for the sex.

This book is good.

This book is good. The plot is good. The characters are good. The sex is good. This book is good and that is the problem. It somehow, in a way I have trouble putting my finger on, just falls short of being great. There really isn't anything I particularly dislike but it lacks a special spark for me. I think this is the perfect book to read if you only have small increments to read. This will keep you entertained but not tempt you to put off your work or stay up too late to keep reading. I think I am going to pass on the next.
